Considering Adoption?
Choosing adoption is a deeply personal decision, and it can involve many emotions. If you’re experiencing an unexpected pregnancy, you may be wondering what adoption looks like today, how much control you have over the process, and whether it might be right for you.
At Amnion Women’s Center, our caring team is here to provide clarity. We’ll walk with you through every step of understanding the adoption process and connect you with trusted, licensed adoption professionals who can answer your questions.
All our services are free and confidential, and you’ll never be pressured to make a specific choice.
What Modern Adoption Looks Like
Adoption today gives you significant control over the process. You can decide how much involvement you want, what kind of relationship you’d like with your child and the adoptive family, and what type of adoption arrangement best fits your needs.
There are three types of adoption:
- Open Adoption: You and the adoptive family share identifying information and maintain ongoing communication through visits, phone calls, or messages.
- Semi-Open Adoption: Communication occurs through an agency or attorney, allowing for updates while protecting your privacy.
- Closed Adoption: All identifying information is sealed, and there’s no direct contact between you and the adoptive family.
Support Every Step of the Way
Adoption can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Our team will help you process your emotions, connect with community resources, and refer you to reputable adoption agencies that can answer any of your in-depth questions, including those about medical, legal, or financial details.
We can also provide referrals for counseling, housing programs, prenatal care, and other forms of help. Depending on your situation, you may even qualify for assistance with certain living expenses during the process.
